GCC Class of 2019 Includes 11 New Haven Promise Grads

Eleven New Haven Promise Graduates will be crossing the stage Thursday, May 23 to accept their diplomas at the Gateway Community College Commencement.
New Haven Promise is a first-of-its-kind scholarship program in the state. It is a location-based program providing scholarships of up to 100 percent tuition for residents and graduates of New Haven Public Schools and approved charter schools.
Gateway’s 27th Commencement takes place at 11:00 a.m. at the Webster Bank Arena, 600 Main Street, Bridgeport.

The New Haven Promise program is revitalizing New Haven through increased educational attainment, increasing home ownership rates, cultivating a culture of college-readiness, reducing high school dropout rates, and promoting community and parental engagement. It is supported and funded by Yale, The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven, Yale-New Haven Hospital, and Wells Fargo.
