Belinda Petrovic was awarded Gateway’s 2024 Staff of the Year.

A Science Lab Coordinator, Ms. Petrovic’s nominators said she fosters a positive and supportive environment for students, colleagues, and the broader community daily.

 “Her infectious positivity and genuine care for others resonate throughout our institution, leaving an indelible impact on everyone she encounters,” said the letter nominating her. It was signed by 32 of her colleagues - Professors, Adjunct Faculty, and Academic Advisors.

Ms. Petrovic is a leader in the newly-launched Gateway Alumni Network, a donor to the Gateway Community College Foundation. She is active in her union, a thoughtful committee member, and an invaluable contributor to Gateway’s Health and Safety Team.

The nominators said, Ms. Petrovic “embodies the spirit of excellence and community that defines our institution.”
