GCC health care majors staffed six tables at Mayor Toni Harp’s annual Senior Citizen Health Fair, October 29, at Hillhouse High School’s Floyd Little Athletic Pavilion. Hundreds of local senior citizens attended the fair to receive quality information and services which Mayor Harp states is “of critical importance to their daily lives reflecting mightily on the importance this Administration places on engagement, proactive health care and wellness.”
GCC nursing and allied health students provided information on nutrition and physical fitness as well as blood pressure screenings and other wellness information. “We are pleased to have the opportunity to go out into the community, “ says Sheila Solernou, director of GCC’s Nursing and Allied Health programs. “Our students enjoy sharing what they know and helping others to improve the quality of their lives.”
