Share

Dr. Henry Lee, the internationally renowned forensic scientist and chief emeritus of the Connecticut State Police, will speak at Gateway Community College (GCC) on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The 11 a.m. event is open to the public and sponsored by the Esther Haseltine Schiavone Endowment Fund for the Arts at GCC. It will be held in room 160 on GCC’s Long Wharf campus at 60 Sargent Drive.

Over the past 40 years, Lee has assisted in the investigations of more than 6,000 cases, including many high profile cases like war crimes in Bosnia and Croatia, the suicide of President Clinton’s former White House attorney Vince Foster, a review of the John F. Kennedy assassination and the death of JonBenet Ramsey. He is also founder and professor of the Forensic Science program at the University of New Haven, editor of seven academic journals and the author or co-author of 30 books and more than 300 articles.

The Esther Haseltine Schiavone Endowment Fund was established in 2006 through the Gateway Community College Foundation by Schiavone’s daughter Jennifer Schiavone, who set up the endowment in her mother’s memory to help the arts programs put on at GCC by her longtime friend and author, GCC Professor Franz Douskey.
