GCC To Host Resource/Job Fair For Area Veterans

Gateway Community College’s office of Veteran Services will host a regional resource and job fair on Monday, March 10 from 10am to 2pm.  

Rosa DeLauro, U.S. Representative for Connecticut's 3rd congressional district, Senator Richard Blumenthal and Commissioner Linda Schwartz of the State Department of Veteran’s Affairs will be in attendance to update veterans on the latest federal initiatives.  The event will also offer important information on opportunities open to veterans in education, employment and training, compensation, benefits and healthcare. 

Participants include Albertus Magnus College, Allied Barton, Connect Veterans, CT Department of Veterans’ Affairs, CT Department of Labor, GCC Disability Services, IKEA, OEF/OIF Outreach Counselors, representatives from Senator Chris Murphy’s office, Quinnipiac University, Southern Connecticut State University, Taxpayer Advocate Service, U.S. Dept. of Labor, Wage & Hour Division, University of New Haven, VAMC, VBA, Vital VA, Vocational Rehabilitation, Wells Fargo and several other organizations.

This event is free and open to all veterans in the Greater New Haven Area, and is sponsored by the Gateway Community College Foundation, and Gateway Community College Office of Veteran Services. For more information, contact the Office of Veteran Services at (203) 285-2090.
