Jeffrey A. Klaus Receives Gateway Community College President's Award

Gateway Community College (GCC) is pleased to announce that President Dorsey L. Ken drick has selected Jeffrey A. Klaus, Webster Bank's regional president for Connecticut, as the distinguished recipient of the President’s Award at the college’s 24th Commencement Ceremony, May 26.
A long-time supporter of Gateway Community College and former member of the Gateway Community College Foundation Board, Klaus currently serves on Dr. Kendrick’s Advisory Board and on Mayor Harp's Blue Ribbon commission on literacy.
Each year, GCC President, Dorsey L. Kendrick, gives out the President's Award at the college's graduation ceremony to recognize and acknowledge special members of the community who have distinguished themselves as outstanding supporters of Education and of Gateway Community College.
“I am proud to acknowledge Jeff’s work with this award,” said President Kendrick. “He is a tireless advocate for the improvement of urban education and a supportive friend of the college, whose dedication and commitment to the institution over the decade is so greatly appreciated.”
Along with his commercial banking achievements, Klaus has been a long-time community volunteer. He is a well-known advocate for the improvement of urban public school education and has served on numerous boards and organizations including the State of Connecticut Transportation Strategy Board, The ECS Commission, and Board Chair of the Community Action Agency of Greater New Haven, Founding Board Member of Amistad Academy, and Founding Board Member of Achievement First.
Klaus is a graduate of Rutgers University and holds an M.B.A. in Finance from the University of Connecticut.
