Gateway President Dr. Dorsey L. Kendrick welcomed about 180 faculty and staff members January 23 to the second Professional Day held on the new campus. Dr. Kendrick and Lucille Brown, director of Human Resources, presented 15 GCC faculty and staff members with the 2012 Service Awards. Jill D. McDowell and Robert E. Tremblay received an award for 25 years of service. Teresa DeMars, Rose Luglio, Saverio Perugini and Daniel Sullivan were honored for 20 years of service. Patricia Iovene, Andrew Randi, Carmelita Valencia-Daye received the 15-year service award and Karen Kessler, Karen Kramer, Patricia Martin, Richard Rees, Sheila Solernou and Jianxin Yang received 10-year awards. 

Also, Mark Kosinski, dean of Academic Affairs, announced that Gateway hired 12 new members of the Maintenance Department in 2012: Kevin Bodie, Alfred Chow-Yen, Christine Crawford, James D'Angelo, Leroy Deberry, Denay Emery, Soloman Goodman, Madison Malcolm, Mark Perez, Alejandro Saravia, James Senior and Joel Medina.
