GCC’s Workforce Development offerings include a special course for those preparing to work as a firefighter, law enforcement officer, EMT, judicial marshal, paramedic or corrections officer. All of these professions require a fitness test, and GCC now offers a special program designed to help you get in shape and pass the fitness exam. The 20-hour program starts on Monday, April 8, and costs $185. The four-week course will run 1.5 hours per session, three times a week and includes an hour for initial paperwork and an hour-long, end-of-course skills and fitness assessment.
Part of the application process for public safety positions typically includes rigorous testing of physical agility and overall physical fitness. GCC’s unique 4-week First Responder Fitness conditioning course has been specifically designed to increase the participants’ muscle strength, aerobic capacity and flexibility. The training is closely aligned with first responder fitness test requirements.
Be at your best when you take your fitness exam. Improve physical strength and conditioning and be prepared. GCC’s Exercise Science and Wellness Program is certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Education Recognition Program (ERP).
