The International Club hosted December 4 an International Discussion with Signora Anna Gambacorta Sincavage from Skappo and Skappo Merkato, an Italian wine bar and gourmet food market in New Haven. Signora Anna discussed Italian culture, tradition and her personal experiences on being Italian and an immigrant to the U.S. She shared stories about the Italian language, music, holiday traditions and food, and she urged students to create their own renaissance, as the Italians did.

“They were young just like you. They caught a moment and they made it flourish,” she said. “You must do the same.” After, students sampled cheeses, Italian meats, breads and some of Senora Anna’s chutney. The consensus? Delizioso!
